STATEMENT OF BELIEFS

As a follower of Jesus Christ who holds the Bible as the inerrant, inspired, and infallible Word of God, I affirm the following truths as the foundation of my faith:

  1. The Scriptures
I believe that the Bible, consisting of the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments, is the complete and final revelation of God to humanity. It is divinely inspired by God, written through human authors under the guidance of the Holy Spirit (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21). The Scriptures are the ultimate authority for faith, doctrine, and Christian living, and I trust them to be without error in their original manuscripts and wholly sufficient for knowing God and His will.

  2. The Holy Trinity
I believe in one eternal God, existing in three distinct persons: God the Father, God the Son (Jesus Christ), and God the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal, co-eternal, and of the same essence, yet each has unique roles in creation, redemption, and the sustaining of all things (Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; John 1:1-14; 2 Corinthians 13:14). The mystery of the Trinity reflects the unity and diversity within God’s perfect nature.

  3. Salvation
I believe that humanity was created in God’s image but fell into sin through Adam and Eve’s disobedience, resulting in spiritual and physical death for all (Genesis 1:27; Romans 3:23; 5:12). Salvation is a free gift of God’s grace, received through faith alone in Jesus Christ alone—His sinless life, substitutionary death on the cross, and bodily resurrection (Ephesians 2:8-9; John 3:16; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4). Jesus’ atoning sacrifice paid the penalty for sin, and there is no other way to be reconciled to God except through Him (John 14:6; Acts 4:12). Those who trust in Christ are born again, justified, and eternally secure in Him (John 10:28-29; Romans 10:9-10).

  4. The Holy Spirit
I believe the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity, fully God, who convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment (John 16:8). He indwells every believer at the moment of salvation, sealing them for the day of redemption (Ephesians 1:13-14). The Spirit empowers believers for godly living, equips them with spiritual gifts for service, and guides them into all truth through the Scriptures (Romans 8:9; 1 Corinthians 12:4-11; John 16:13). I affirm His ongoing work in sanctification, though I believe miraculous gifts like tongues and prophecy were primarily for the apostolic age and are not normative today unless explicitly shown in Scripture.

  5. Dispensationalism
I believe that God works with humanity through distinct dispensations, or periods of time, in which He administers His will differently while remaining consistent in His character and promises (Ephesians 1:10; Hebrews 1:1-2). The Bible distinguishes between Israel and the Church as separate entities in God’s redemptive plan. The Church Age, in which we now live, began at Pentecost and will end with the Rapture, after which God will fulfill His promises to the nation of Israel during the Tribulation and Millennial Kingdom (Romans 11:25-27; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17). I hold to a literal interpretation of biblical prophecy and a pre-tribulational, premillennial view of Christ’s return.

  6. The End Times
I believe in the imminent return of Jesus Christ to rapture His Church, followed by a seven-year Tribulation period of judgment on the earth (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; Revelation 3:10; Daniel 9:27). After this, Christ will return physically to establish His literal 1,000-year reign on earth from Jerusalem, fulfilling God’s covenants with Israel (Revelation 20:1-6; Zechariah 14:4-9). Satan will be bound during this time, then released briefly before his final defeat, leading to the Great White Throne Judgment (Revelation 20:11-15).

  7. The Church and Eternal Destiny
I believe the Church is the Body of Christ, made up of all true believers from every nation, called to proclaim the Gospel, make disciples, and live holy lives as a testimony to God’s grace (Matthew 28:19-20; Ephesians 1:22-23; 1 Peter 1:15-16). Baptism and the Lord’s Supper are ordinances instituted by Christ, not means of salvation, but acts of obedience and remembrance (Acts 2:38-41; 1 Corinthians 11:23-25). I affirm the bodily resurrection of all people: the saved to eternal life with God in the New Heaven and New Earth, and the unsaved to eternal separation and punishment in the Lake of Fire, based on their response to Jesus Christ (John 5:28-29; Revelation 20:15; 21:1-4; Matthew 25:46).
